Last week started with a tough district game at Neshoba Central. While we didn’t come out on top, both teams showed incredible grit and represented CMSD with pride. 💜💛
Later in the week, our teams faced off against Kemper County, and the results were fantastic:
🔥 Girls: A dominant 3-0 victory, showcasing outstanding teamwork and skill!
🔥 Boys: A 7-0 victory, with a spectacular performance by Destin Poindexter, who scored 5 goals! Quadri Hinton and Caiden Anderson also added to the score, making it a complete team effort! ⚽👏

🔬🧪 New Semester, New Learning! 🧪🔬
As we kick off the new semester in Chemistry, the students explored the significance of wearing safety goggles by simulating the denaturation of proteins in the eye. 🥚👓 Using egg whites (which contain albumin, a protein similar to those in our eyes), they tested how different substances like water, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, and vinegar affect proteins. When proteins in the eye denature, they lose transparency, which can result in permanent damage or even blindness. 😱 It was a great hands-on lesson about why proper safety gear is so important in the lab! 💡🔬
