Making learning FUN at CHS! Mrs. Wriley-Bafford's US History students worked with a partner to solve 10 problems based on US Imperialism and The Spanish American War. After each answer, students received a clue. Like the popular board game Clue, there will be a fictional "issue." The goal was to determine the "suspect," the site of the issue, and the method. Students raced to solve the mystery.

Featured Work-Based Learning Student: Kylan Ellis. With aspirations to become a Nuclear Engineer, Kylan Ellis has been hard at work with his new internship. At the I.T. Help Store, he's worked on several projects to improve his problem-solving, customer service, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Kylan has been making website updates and diving into technical training beyond basic hardware diagnostics. When class is back in session, he’ll start the fundamentals of component-level soldering. He's also learning the intricacies of TCP/IP networking, the foundation of modern networking infrastructure. Thanks to his internship, Kylan is poised to graduate with vital skills in computer repair and diagnostics. Special shoutout to Mr. Brett Johnson for his mentorship, guiding Kylan toward his aspirations and goals after graduation. “Outside of technical work, it is also important to learn how to interact with customers," Mr. Johnson said. "Kylan also goes on site with me to handle service calls. This is probably the most valuable experience he can get. Interacting with customers is valuable in all fields of work." #StudentCentered #ExcellenceDriven #WorkBasedLearning
